Real Estate Loan Modification Policy Update
UNIFY understands that the current economic climate has taken a toll on members and their abilities to meet their financial obligations. Consistent with the media messages that have become quite frequent, UNIFY, like many other financial service providers, is doing what it can to work with members who have mortgages with the Credit Union and are unable to make their monthly mortgage payments due to extreme financial hardship.
In response to the changing economy, your Board of Directors has adopted a Real Estate Loan Modification policy that allows the Management Team to work with members on a case-by-case basis to modify their mortgages if there has been a significant change in their financial situations (e.g. loss of a job, reduction in pay). While UNIFY cannot guarantee a modification for all requests, the Management Team will continue to work with members to achieve a satisfactory resolution on those real estate loans that merit a modification, which may include one of the following options permitted within Policy:
